Canadian Skilled Worker Visas & Permanent Residency:

Canadian skilled worker applicants are assessed on a series of factors, designed to indicate thelikelihood of becoming economically established in Canada. Applications are assessed on six selection factors and a points system. In order to be eligible to receive a permanent resident visa under the federal skilled worker category, an applicant must score at least 67 points out of a possible 100. If applicants have a strong professional background, they will not need to arrange a job offer.

This program is the most popular program since one can apply as a Skilled Worker based on merit without having a family member or arranged employment in Canada.

The six selection factors are as follows::

Education (PhD/Master's, Bachelor's, or Trade/Non-University certificate/diploma)
Work Experience (1 - 4 years of work experience)
Language Skills (Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing in English and French)
Age (21 to 49 gets the maximum points)
Adaptability (education and/or employment in Canada, having a relative in Canada, spouse/common-law partner's education level)
Arranged Employment in Canada (HRSDC confirmed, NAFTA/CCFTA, GATS, postgraduate work in Canada, or Arranged Employment Opinion)

Permanent Residency Strategies:

With a growing backlog at Canadian visa offices around the world, applicants should look at Arranged Employment Offers or "stepping stone" strategies in order to accelerate the immigration process. Moreover, the proposed Canadian Experience Visa signals the Government's immigration priorities. Contact us for more information.
